Leeds Queer Film Festival

Leeds Queer Film Festival

When: 24th – 26th March

Where: Live Art Bistro LS2 7QA

What: A DIY celebration of the best in new and alternative LGBTQ+ cinema from around the world!

We are creating a space to showcase queer cinema with a focus on independent and DIY films. We aim to screen films that elevate and prioritise the voices and work of those most marginalised within our queer communities. We also welcome films from queer people that don’t explicitly have a queer focus. We are not for profit and any money raised goes towards supporting queer filmmakers as much as possible and we aim to make the festival as affordable and accessible as we can. The festival is organised by volunteers and is open to newcomers each year.

Our programme is now released!
We’ve got over 50 films in the programme and it’s a great mix of fiction, documentary, experimental and animation! Our feature films include Moonlight, Major!, Waiting for B, The Revival: Women and the Word and Apricot Groves. Alongside films, there’ll also be Q&As with the filmmakers of Brown Queers and Mum, a QTIPoC space, a party, and the following workshops: Dykes, Rebels & Working-Class Warriors, Bi+ Representation in Film, Kendama, and Zines & Pages & Stuff. More TBA.
